microdermabrasion for the body

SkinBase microdermabrasion for the body – Who fancies adding a new option?

Microdermabrasion treatments are not just for the face you can use it on many other parts of the body! That’s right, it’s not just facials you can offer, many of our SkinBase therapists are now offering microdermabrasion body treatments too.  So what are the options? Take a look here for the treatments you might have been missing out on!

Luxury MD Manicures

Rough hands are never a good look, but it’s one that most of us end up with from time to time no matter how much hand cream we apply. A microdermabrasion manicure will remove dead skin and deeply exfoliate the skin so that it looks soft and smooth. Dead skin absorbs light too, so microdermabrasion will also help to give hands a healthy glow instead of looking dull and rough. Microdermabrasion also helps to increase product absorption, meaning hand cream will become even more effective at protecting, hydrating and nourishing the skin too!

Luxury MD Pedicures

That’s right, microdermabrasion incorporated into a pedicure for an indulgent and very effective treatment. Microdermabrasion reaches all the nooks and crannies, effectively removing the build-up of skin that you often see on the heels. It can be a nightmare trying to combat the dead skin on heels – getting moisturisers to absorb can be impossible, whilst scrubbing them away by hand is exhausting and time consuming. With a SkinBase Microdermabrasion Pedicure, your client can sit back and relax while one of our wonderful therapists works their magic.

MD Back repair treatments

During treatment, a vigorous jet of crystals will slough away old skin and imperfections. Meanwhile the powerful vacuum action will unblock pores and stimulate blood flow to the area to promote healing and improve the appearance of the skin. To achieve the best results we recommend offering a course of treatments.

Decolletage

This delicate area requires a sensitive touch. The Decolletage treatment will use the MD’s variable control to ensure just the right amount of pressure for the skin. Also prone to pigmentation issues, the decolletage will see benefits from a course of treatment to gently remove pigmentation caused by sun damage.

Razor bumps

Exfoliation removes layers of dead skin, this helps to reduce the likeliness that hairs will get trapped and cause razor bumps because the skin will have fewer excess layers. It’s important to start exfoliating before shaving, and then do it regularly between shaves too, but not on the same day. Alternatively, a monthly Microdermabrasion treatment is the perfect way to eliminate dead skin build up and prevent the bumps from forming. The added benefit of Microdermabrasion is that it will smooth and rejuvenate your skin as well as reduce scarring, which is perfect if you have clients who regularly suffer from razor bumps as they can scar the skin over time.

Keratosis Pilaris

Ever wondered what the bumps on the back of the arms are called? ‘Keratosis Pilaris’ is their technical name. These tiny little bumps that look like goosebumps form when too much keratin builds up in the skin’s hair follicles. This gives skin a bumpy texture. They can also look red in appearance. During microdermabrasion exfoliating crystals and a vacuum action help to remove the build up. The hair follicle is cleared of debris leaving skin smooth and clear.

Stretch Marks

Elasticity plays an important part in how stretch marks form. SkinBase microdermabrasion targets the problem area and through the fine crystals stimulates elastin and collagen. Although the marks are still there, the exfoliating action of the SkinBase™ treatment helps to blend the stretch marks with the surrounding area so they become significantly less visible.
